A leading automotive client is looking to hire a Power Engineer to support their infrastructure group. This is a contract to hire position paying up to $87/hour. This position is sitting out of Corpus Christi or Austin, Texas. If located in Austin, travel is required 4x a month. The schedule is 5 days of 10 hours, compensated 1.5 for overtime.
Job Summary: The Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical power systems within our client's lithium refinery. This role involves ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of power distribution and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with industrial power systems, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical power systems for the refinery, including power distribution, control systems, and backup power solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to optimize power system performance and efficiency.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform regular inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and maintain continuous operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including process engineers, maintenance personnel, and external contractors.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance system reliability and longevity.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in power systems engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably in an industrial or refinery setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution, control systems, and backup power solutions.
- Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
